We are committed to protecting your privacy.  If you submit any personal information to Us via this site We will keep it confidential.  We will not disclose it to any third party outside the Equitable Life Group other than HBOS for the purpose of administering policyholders requirements, without your consent unless there is a legal or regulatory obligation to do so.  We will use your personal information only when responding to your queries or servicing your policies.

Site Security
Equitable Life gives security the highest priority.  As this is such an important issue, the site makes use of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) in the online client servicing area. This ensures that your data is encrypted whilst it is being sent between your browser and Our web server. Two levels of encryption are available (40 bit and 128 bit). This website supports both.

Use of 128 bit encryption is usually only allowed in the US. However, as a UK financial organisation We are permitted to use this level of security. More information is available from Verisign (www.verisign.com), the external security organisation who provide Equitable Life’s encryption key.

If you see a padlock system at the bottom of the screen, this indicates that you are in a secure area, where encryption is used.   When we store your personal information on our internal systems it is protected with a secure firewall and other measures to prevent unauthorised access.

Cookies
A cookie is a small file containing information which a website places into your Internet browser from where it can be retrieved later. It cannot be read by any website other than that which placed the cookie. Our cookies will be automatically deleted at the close of your browser session.

We use cookies for logon authentication, to keep track of your online session and for security timeout processing.
